Operations and Sustainability Manager
Join the team at Raised In – where early years education meets community impact.
We’re a not-for-personal-profit social enterprise with a clear mission: to provide the very best early years education while investing in the communities we serve.
We’re looking for a proactive, solutions-focused Operations and Sustainability Manager to lead our operational functions and drive our environmental strategy. This new role offers the chance to shape its direction and make a real impact in a growing social enterprise.
You’ll oversee facilities, service contracts, and sustainability initiatives, with responsibility for health & safety, fire regulations, risk management, and capital projects. The role includes line management and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure our spaces are safe, future-ready, and reflect the Raised In brand.
We’re a passionate bunch at Raised In! We love what we do, and we’re committed to helping the youngest children reach their full potential in friendly, nurturing, and engaging home-from-home environments. We’re building something special and we’d love you to be part of it.
We have four Raised in Bristol nurseries: Raised in Bristol at Easton Community Centre (BS5), Raised in Bristol at Felix Road Adventure Playground (BS5), Raised in Bristol at Docklands Community Centre (BS2), Raised in Bristol at the Greenway Centre (BS10) and our head office is based in the city centre (BS1).
Why work with us?
We really value our expert team. As well as offering competitive pay for all roles in a friendly and supportive team, you’ll receive lots of great benefits:
Competitive pay
Annual pay reviews
Paid lunch 1 hour break
50% off for your child in our nurseries
Enhanced maternity or paternity pay
Employer pension
‘Refer a friend’ bonus for introducing new team members to us
28 days holiday (inc bank holidays, FTE)
Your Birthday off and an Annual Wellbeing Day (in addition to your annual leave)
Plus 3 extra days off between Christmas and New Year
24/7 access to a remote GP for you and your family
Career progression and training opportunities
What about you?
You’re someone who loves making things work better, for people and for the planet. You bring experience in operations, facilities, or sustainability, and you’re confident juggling priorities without losing sight of the detail.
You’re practical and solutions-focused, but you also care about impact. You’ll lead on sustainability, helping us reduce our footprint and inspire others to do the same. You’re a clear communicator, comfortable working with different teams and partners, and you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.
If you’ve managed people before, great. If you’ve worked in social enterprise, education, or have ideas for making systems greener and smarter, even better. Most importantly, you share our belief that children and communities thrive when we work together.
